Dr. Perez completed his medical training at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City, where he graduated with honors. He subsequently completed a rigorous plastic surgery residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX – ranked the #1 plastic surgery training program in the country.

There he was fortunate to train with giants in the field, many of whom pioneered surgical techniques widely used in plastic surgery today. He was then hand-selected to work under the mentorship of world-expert Dr. Grant Stevens and joins us here at Marina Plastic Surgery and Medspa.
His calm demeanor coupled with his meticulous dedication to detail and aesthetic eye make him an excellent addition to our team. He offers the full spectrum of aesthetic surgery as well as nonsurgical treatments like injectables, lasers, and skin resurfacing treatments.

Cory Felber PA-C is an NCCPA nationally board-certified and state-licensed surgical physician assistant trained in a wide variety of non-ablative techniques that complement the work of our surgeons and assist those wanting a non-surgical approach to self-improvement. With her aesthetic and clinical dermatology expertise, she serves adult, adolescent and pediatric patients. She is also an approved Injector Trainer for Allergan, the maker of BOTOX and JUVÉDERM dermal filler.

She has her undergraduate degree from UCLA in the field of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology. Following UCLA, she attended the Physician Assistant Program at USC School of Medicine, and completed her clinical training at LAC-USC Medical Center. She received her NCCPA national board certification with honors in both general and surgical medicine.

MICKLEY SHAWZIN

Mickley Is an LA native with over twenty years of experience in Spa And Medical Aesthetics. While finishing her degree at UCLA, Mickley began her career as a makeup artist but soon realized her passion was skincare. After graduating from Aesthetician school, she landed her first job with an international skincare spa, where a trainer was sent from Japan to retrain and reeducate Mickley on the science, technique, and expertise of all aspects of aesthetics. Her training also includes Skinceuticals Master Aesthetician course and as a certified Hydrafacialist.

Mickley’s passion for knowledge in the ever-changing skincare industry has allowed her to stay informed on the latest techniques and skincare to help her patients achieve the best skin of their lives. Her favorite treatments include HydraFacial, Keravive scalp treatments, Derma planning and VI peels. Recently, Mickley became an advisor for Allergan Aesthetics to help launch Resonic, a revolutionary and noninvasive treatment for cellulite.
BESSY
Patient Care Coordinator/Master Coolsculpting Tech/CMA
Bessy is our Patient Care Coordinator, and the go-to person for our patients from the very beginning of their experience at Marina Plastic Surgery by Athenix. She joined our practice in 2015 with extensive knowledge in the medical industry. Her past includes cosmetic, dermatologic, family practice and oncology experience as a Certified Surgical / Medical Assistant and through her leadership and passion for the aesthetic industry, has played a significant role in our practice.

Her favorite thing about working at Marina Plastic Surgery is being a part of every patient’s transformation from start to finish. Through her journey, she not only explains procedures and answers questions but also delivers a meticulous level of personalized attention to ensure all our patients are well prepared for their consultation and surgical procedure making each patient's transformative experience truly exceptional.
In addition to managing our surgical patients she’s a Master Coolsculpting Technician. Her primary focus is to be the liaison between patients for all their surgical and non-surgical needs. Bessy ensures optimal communication, understanding and maximum comfort and trust while in our care!
